GP Sri Lanka ‘25 – Oration Submission
All CGPSL Orations are selected according to a structured and transparent process to ensure fairness and credibility. Double blinding will be used to eliminate any biases.
Dr MPM Cooray (College) Oration
The Oration will be held on 23rd May 2025 evening at the Inauguration Ceremony of the GP Sri Lanka’25.
- Open for both Sri Lankans and non-Sri Lankans.
- Substantial amount of the Oration should be based on original research or work done in Family Medicine and/or Primary Care.
- Orations based on work published in journals will be given priority.
- In case of multi-author research and publications, the applicant should inform the other authors of his/her presentation and provide details of contribution to the research/ manuscript by the applicant.
Guidelines for Submission
- Applicants should submit an Abstract of the proposed oration, which is not more than 500 words. Use IMRaD format unless the content requires otherwise.
- For all research involving human subjects, please state regarding ‘ethical clearance’ in the Methods section. RCTs should have been registered in a WHO recognised Clinical Trial Registry.
- The oration Abstract should be typed using Times New Roman, font size 12 with double line spacing.
- A soft copy of the Abstract in MS Word or PDF format should be emailed to the College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka on cgpsloffice@gmail.com with the other necessary documents mentioned below. The name of the applicant should NOT contain in the Oration Abstract.
- A separate sheet stating the publication/s and conference papers (oral/poster) on which the oration is based, should be attached to the email.
- A brief CV (not more than 3 A4 pages) should be attached.
- Abstract should be accompanied by the signed Declaration form which indicates the following.
- A declaration by the applicant if any part of the work included in the Abstract has already been presented as an oration or not.
- In case of multi-author research and publication/s, the applicant should inform the other authors of his/her presentation and provide details of the contribution to design, data collection, analysis and writing of the manuscript/s by the applicant.
- Other authors of the presented research or publication/s have no objection to the submission of the oration.
- Declaration of financial and other conflicts of interests.

The Oration will be held on 24th May 2025 morning.
- Open for Sri Lankan Family doctors only.
- Substantial amount of the Oration should be based on original research or work done in Family Medicine and/or Primary Care in Sri Lanka.
